Greetings LVC Family,

What an incredible year of growth, inspiration and collaboration 2018 has been! We have been so honored to share it with so many of you, in so many different contexts.

The Compass at LIB truly came into its own this year, with an incredible line-up of over 150 cultural leaders and activists along with groundbreaking music and performance and the beloved Last Supper Club immersive dining experience. A true highlight for us was the Women Protectors of Mother Earth Panel, facilitated by Amy Goodmanafter her own incredible keynote speech and featuring Penny Opal-Plant (Bay Area Idle No More), Leila Salazar-Lopez (Amazon Watch), Erial Deranger (Indigenous Climate Action) and Violet Cavanaugh (Northern Chumash Tribal Council). As always, we are deeply indebted to our amazing content partners: Bioneers, Indigenous Environmental Network, MAPS, NEXUS, Life Force Academy and Planet Experts.

Also at LIB we performed our original production of Rites of the Serpent: The Un-Spelling to a completely overflowing audience at the Beacon. This piece utilized our long-time practices of ritual theater to address the cultural spell of patriarchy and was received as truly profound and astonishing by all in attendance. We were honored to collaborate on this work with Thrive Choir, Eli Marienthal, Tigre Bailando, Sonja Drakulich, Schirin Shams-Diba, Charlie Dando and an incredible, dedicated cast and crew.

Held as a parallel event to the Global Climate Action Summit in SF, the VillageWell Symposium was a truly legendary gathering where LVC brought together a diverse array of frontline activists, scientists, politicians and visionaries to address this crucial issue of our times, including Indigenous Environmental Network, NEXUS Global, Project Drawdown, Buckminster Fuller Institute, Amazon Watch and many many more. More can be seen atwww.culturevillage.org.

Our third annual sold out Serpent Path Retreat has become the ritual heart of our yearly cycle, journeying together for 4 days of deep ritual cultivation in order to do the personal work that allows us to step fully into an empowered life of sacred service and magical activism. We are so blown away by the depth of the beauty that emerges within this very unique container, truly unlike anything we experience in any other context.

And there was so much more!

After LIB, we traveled to Bulgaria and curated a 3-day educational environment at the festival Meadows in the Mountains.

  • At this year’s Spiritweavers Gathering, we were honored to facilitate the Opening & Closing Ceremony for the Moon session, as well as offering a new class: Reclaiming the Erotic.

  • We made our annual pilgrimage to our much loved content partner’s Bioneers Conference, always such a source of inspiration and practical hope in these wild times.

  • We gathered in community for our annual Winter Solstice Oracle Rite, and were profoundly impacted by the transmissions for 3 different truly gifted oracles: Cynthia Brown Maglaras, Lore Ross & Marza Millar.

  • We started monthly New Moon Circles at Luxe Nomad in Nevada City last Feb and have been gathering consistently to begin each month in community to set intentions and offer gratitude. This has become a staple in our community and we are so excited to see where it continues to take us on a ritual journey through the cycles of the year.

  • With the extensive interest in the Art of Ritual practice, we created a series of classes and workshops in Nevada City to delve deeper into the technologies of Oracle Ritual. Another series will begin later this year.

  • We have also been diving deep into the study of daoist practices from qigong to sexual cultivation to philosophy and are honored to have a received and first level of teacher certification from the Mogadao Institute in Santa Fe, NM. These teachings will be woven into our offerings more and more this coming year.
