The Q'ero Indigenous Peoples are the direct descendants of the high priests of the INKA who still live in the INKA traditional style near Apu Huamanalipa at between 16-18,000 feet in the Andes. They are the last remaining INKA, having fled to the high Andes when the Conquistadores invaded Perú in the mid 1500s and have survived with their cultural and spiritual traditions intact- for over 500 years. They were "invisible" to the outside world, and emerged in only in 1959.

The Q'ero Paqos are some of the most highly respected medicine people in South

America and the medicine people to whom many other shamans go to receive their

initiations. They are a people of Munay: unconditional heart energy.
