The Village Symposium is a journey into community building, education, ritual and social change. This gathering that took place April 20th-24th 2016 at The Haven in Nevada City was a warm-up event for the Village at LIB, a conference exploring the place where science and mysticism meet and how humans can reinstate ourselves back into a harmonious and symbiotic relationship with the web of life.

We are seeking to collectively remember the ways of an offering based culture, and to grow local as well as global community connections within a powerful network of practitioners focused on earth-based wisdom and mystical traditions.

Cycles within the 5th Sun with Marza Millar: 6 - 7:30pm

We are living within the times that our ancestors read the prophecies of the future. We are in their future. We are living within the decay of the 4th world and the hope and brilliance of the 5th World. We must understand our time lines and cycles to make good choices for ourselves, our families, and our future children. Ancient Future is here, we must learn to walk in the prophecy lines, pulling from the ancient past and bring that into future destiny.  Learning to live in multidimensional time, to help manifest ancient future into our daily lives.

Community Despacho Ceremony with the International Q'ero Foundation: 7:30 - 9:30pm

The term Despacho refers to the act of making an offering. It is similar to a "give away". It is a gift to Mother Earth Pachamama, the Mother star system Hatun Chaska, the Sun Inti and the Spirits of the Mountains, the APUS- that places us in right relationship and right reciprocity. It establishes a linkage between our three centers of interaction and the physical Universe; our personal power, located in the solar plexus, our love, located in the heart chakra and our wisdom, sourced from our third eye, bindhu chakra and crown chakra.

Despachos are fundamental ceremonies of the Q'eros, which involve an offering of the Mesa, or medicine bundle. The ceremonies are an act of creating a mandala-type form, in three levels of consciousness or the three worlds; with prayer and intention through Kintus, sacred herbs, grains, food, jewels and other objects, these connect to the Living Energy of All Life.

Despachos are beneficial in aiding an individual's process of healing on the personal, planetary and universal dimensions.

Tickets for Friday are $35, which goes directly to the International Q’ero Foundation.

Each session is $15, or join us for the whole day (including the evening event) for $55

Mukta Yoga with Danielle Rubio: 9:30-10:30am

In this class Danielle offers an experience in which you remember that you are the vast expanse of creative self-empowerment and self-healing.

Through deep holds and attentive transitions, we flow in playful movement, observing the fluctuations of the mind. While remembering the Divine play, we aim to release our tensions and uphold our connection to Self. We practice recognition of true peace no matter the movements of our bodies or minds or external experiences.

We play and pray. We offer and receive. We rejoice and remember (who we are).

Middle Pillar Ritual with Naha Armady: 11am – 12:30pm

The Middle Pillar Ritual is magical operation in the tradition of the Western Hermetic Mysteries.  Based on the teachings of Israel Regardie who first published this ritual in 1938 as practiced by the magical society Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn, the Qabalistic practice know as the Middle Pillar is used to bring all unbalanced states in the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual realms into harmony.

Participants will invoke the 5 elements of Fire, Water, Air, Earth, and Spirit, and engage in a guided meditation which focuses light on the elemental energy centers, creating harmony and equilibrium in the aura and subtle bodies.  The body is aligned with the Middle Pillar on the Tree of Life - a magical glyph used to represent how the universe came into being, and the connection between the macrocosmic and the microcosmic worlds. In the Tarot, the High Priestess represents the Middle Pillar.

Please bring a yoga mat / mat to lie on.

The Heart is the Emperor: Intuition and Chinese Medicine with Gianna de la Torre: 11am – 12:30pm

We live in a culture that places an overwhelming emphasis on the prowess of the mind.  I argue that our intelligence is systemic. In being overly cerebral, we miss some of the gifts that accompany other organ systems. To access intuition we must bypass the mind and allow ourselves permission to know. This workshop will cover basic Chinese Medicine 5 element theory so we can better understand the roles our organs play in our emotional/intuitive intelligence.  Come prepared to exercise your intuition and receive an intuitive reading as a group.

Studies in Stillness with Bad Unkl Sista: 4 – 5:30pm

The aesthetics of Bad Unkl Sista choreography and performance philosophy have been distilled into the Stillness Studies training method, which is devoted to the investigation of the still point of the body. Utilizing space, stillness, and silence as tools for self-reflection, participants are invited to excavate dormant energy of inner landscapes, transmute energy, and heighten awareness.

Stillness Studies leverages 20 years of individual and group movement and analysis in multiple forms of dance, physical theater, experimental and therapeutic modalities. The training focuses on bringing the body and mind into a hyperconscious state of awareness. This is achieved by studying the body's micro-movements dispersed with extended periods of held stillness. Although the body is moving, movement is only a catalyst to better understand and explore stillness. This "stillpoint" creates a pathway for a person to better experience an objective witnessing of the self, both inside and out.

Ceremony in the Alchemical Union of the Sacred Masculine and Feminine

with Kalita Todd and Natalia Price: 6 – 7:30pm

Within us all is contained the seeds of the masculine and the feminine, the yin and the yang, that are expressed as the polarity we find in all of life.

These two polarities are divinely designed to seek resolution, integration and union.

Enter into an alchemical journey as we deepen our understanding of our inner male and female aspects and how they play out in our lives. Using archetypes, sacred tools and symbols, we will tune into which polarity is more developed or unexpressed; and explore ways to nurture and balance them in the embrace of both their shadow and light. We will create a Sacred Marriage ritual within ourselves, as a growing in to our wholeness and to step into embodiment and rightful alignment to bring the highest potential of Male and Female energies to serve humanity.

Rebalancing and raising the vibration of our inner masculine and feminine is a powerful means to create fulfilment within us, our relationships and the Planet by standing as sovereign beings in equality and right relationship with authentic power sourced from within.
